You can only have legal right of admission if you have completed a bachelor’s degree from Aarhus University.
The legal right of admission guarantees you a place in the Master's program that directly follows the completed Bachelor’s degree. The admission requirements page for each Master's programme shows which Bachelor's degrees grant legal right of admission.
You have legal right of admission to a Master's programme, provided that you meet the following criteria:
The legal right of admission is valid for 3 years. This means that you must apply to a Master’s degree programme no later than 3 years after completing your Bachelor’s degree.
The 3-year period begins with the summer intake immediately following the completion of your Bachelor’s degree and ends after the summer intake three years later.
For example:
The legal right of admission can only be exercised once. However, if you are offered admission and accept the study place, you may still withdraw your acceptance and decline the offer before the acceptance deadline: 10 June (for the summer intake) or 15 December (for the winter intake).
If you already hold a Master’s degree, the "Master’s Degree Rule" will override your legal right of admission. This means that you will only be admitted to the programme that directly follows your completed Bachelor’s degree if there are vacant places remaining after all applicants without a Master’s degree have been admitted.
You can read about the "Master’s degree Rule" here.
With your legal right of admission, your admission to the specific track of the Master’s degree programme directly following your Bachelor’s degree is secured.
If you are unsure about how these rules apply to you, feel free to contact ma.admission@au.dk.
