A university transfer is for those who are already enrolled at another university in Denmark and who would like to transfer to the same programme at AU.
How to apply depends on whether you are a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree student and on how much of the degree programme you have already completed. Select the scenario below that applies to you and see how you should apply.
If you are a Bachelor’s degree student and have not yet gained 60 ECTS, the prerequisites for transferring to AU from another university are:

Application deadlines
The application deadline is 15 March if you wish to apply for quota 2 and 5 July if you wish to apply for quota 1.

You will receive a response to your application on 28 July.

If you are a Master’s degree student and have not yet gained 60 ECTS, you should not apply for a university transfer. You should instead apply for ordinary admission in the same way you applied for your current programme: through DANS.
If you are due to be withdrawn from your current university, you must instead apply for re-admission.
If you are admitted to the degree programme, AU will automatically assess whether you can get a credit transfer for some of the courses you have already completed in your current programme.

Are you unsure whether you have passed all courses in the first academic year?
Perhaps you are unsure whether what you have passed corresponds to the first academic year. For example, the degree programme at Aarhus University might be structured differently from your current programme.
If you are unsure whether you can get a credit transfer for the entire first academic year, we recommend that you apply for both a university transfer and for ordinary admission to the new programme. It is not a problem to apply for both things at the same time.

To apply for a transfer, please find the type of programme called “Change of programme/transfer – Bachelor’s degree programmes/Master’s degree programmes” in the application system. Then find the programme you wish to transfer to.

When will I get a response?
Applications are assessed on an ongoing basis. It can take a long time to process applications, and some applicants will only receive a response in August (for summer admissions) / January (for winter admissions).
